A solo art show of recent paintings by Ahmedabad based contemporary artist – Bulbul Rai will be held in Hall No.4, Jehangir Art Gallery, M.G. Road, Mumbai 40001 from 28th Oct. to 3rd Nov. 2024. It will be open there daily for free public viewing between 11 am to 7 pm.  This series made by her using oil and Acrylic colours on canvas exemplifies the subtle nuances of her artistic ode to sanctity and relevance of the Lord Shiva in various forms and the significant omnipresent relevance of the religious chantings in praise of Lord Shiva and His numerous peculiar forms in apt perspectives.


The present series, SHREEKANTHAYA  highlights her thematic presentation of paintings made in oil and Acrylic colours on canvas in unique style of artistic expressions. She has focussed on Lord Shiva and his life in various forms of eternal divinity in order to ward off negative energies, troubles and ill feelings around and fill the environment with His blessings and chanting of 108 sacred mantras of Lord Shiva as a salutation to Lord Neelkantha – Blue Throated Lord Shiva. Her art for positivity has been depicted through numerous iconic motifs such as Nandi, the religious chanting bells in temples, Leaves of auspicious trees etc.   She has presented her work on Lord Shiva in 6 out of 12 jyotirlingas – Somnath, Kedarnath, Bhimashankar, Mahakaleshwar, Rameshwaram and Varansi – Vishwanath. Shivas vehicle and avatars notably Nandi – the bull symbolizing happiness strength and productivity etc. find a prominent place in her work.
